Ingredients
6 slices white bread
1/2 C. butter
2 C. cubed cooked chicken or turkey
2 C. American Cheese, shredded
1 10 oz. package frozen peas and carrots, thawed, drained
2 10 3/4 oz. cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1/2 tsp. dried dill weed
Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees. In 13×9-inch baking dish melt butter in oven 4-5 minutes. Meanwhile, with 2 1/2-inch star shaped cookie cutter cut 2 stars from each slice of bread. Dip 1 side of each star into melted butter; set stars aside.
Crumble remaining bread from slices (a blender or food processor works well). Stir crumbs into remaining butter in dish. Press lightly on bottom of baking dish to form crust. In large bowl stir together all remaining ingredients. Spread over crust. Top with stars, buttered side up. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until bubbly around edges and stars are toasted.
Yield: 10 servings
